Invictus brings home Gold!!!!

Published Tue 25 Apr 2023

Invictus have had an amazing week competing at the 2023 Australian Dragon Boat Championships at Gateway Lakes, Victoria in our final competition of the 2022-23 season. Our Senior A and Premier Women's crews are bringing home some bling:

🥇- Senior A Women 200m small boat - Australian Champions

🥈- Senior A Women 500m small boat

🥈- Premier Women 200m small boat

🥈- Premier Women 500m small boat

🥉- Senior A Women 2000m small boat

🥉- Premier Women 2000m small boat

While the medals are great, that's just the small stuff. What made this campaign so special was the commitment, camaraderie and support for all of our crews. Our Senior A Mixed Crew is the sixth fastest in Australia over 500m; our Mixed Premier crew narrowly missed out on making the grand final (by 0.77sec!) and our Senior A and Premier Open crews left nothing in the tank and can hold their heads high.

Invictus was also well represented in the ACT State squad where the Senior A Women came away with silver in the 500m and the Senior B Women came away with a well deserved bronze in the 500m.

For some of our members, this was their first experience at an Australian Championships and we have all been inspired by what we achieved as a Club.

We're now taking a short break off the water, but can't wait to be back in the boat soon to build on our super successful 2022-23 season. If you've ever wanted to try dragon boating, come and give it a try with us! We'll be training every Saturday morning at 10.00am from Saturday 13 May and we'd love to have you in our boat.
